UBC academic calendar winter term 2 2024

1. International Student Orientation for new international students (including US) in degree or diploma programs is on Thursday, January 4, 2024.
2. Winter Session Residences open for Term 2 at 12:00 pm on Sunday, January 7, 2024.
3. The Start of UBC Winter Session Term 2 is Monday, January 8, 2024.
4. The last day for payment of the second installment of fees for registration and course changes made on or before December 31 is Wednesday, January 10, 2024.
5. International exchange and visiting Student Orientation for students entering Winter Session Term 2 is on Thursday, January 11, 2024.
6. Monday, January 15, 2024, is the deadline for currently enrolled undergraduate students to apply for a change of program or a change of campus for the 2023 Winter Session.
7. The deadline for undergraduate students to apply for admission for the 2024/25 Winter Session is Monday, January 15, 2024.
8. According to UBC academic calendar 2023-2024, Friday, January 19, 2024, is the last day for change in registration and for withdrawal for most Term 2 courses without a withdrawal standing of W recorded on a student’s academic record. Student Service Centre remains open for course withdrawals with a W standing.
9. The last day for eligible students to apply for an exemption from the U-Pass program is Friday, January 19, 2024. Consult U-Pass Eligibility for information and instructions.
10. iMED opt-out deadline is Friday, January 19, 2024.
11. The last day for changes between credit and audit for most Winter Session Term 2 courses is Friday, January 19, 2024.
12. The last day to elect Credit/D/Fail grading for eligible courses is Friday, January 19, 2024.
13. Wednesday, February 7, 2024, is the last day for payment of fees for any fee assessments incurred between January 1 and January 31.
14. Family Day is Monday, February 19, 2024. The University of British Columbia is closed. Central study areas of the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre will be open.
15. UBC Winter Session Term 2 midterm break 2024 begins for most faculties from Monday, February 19, 2024, to Friday, February 23, 2024. Lectures and laboratories cancelled.
16. The last day for withdrawal using the Student Service Centre from most Winter Session Term 2 courses with a withdrawal standing of W recorded on a student’s academic record is Friday, March 1, 2024.
17. Friday, March 29, 2024 Good Friday. The university is closed, but some branches of the Library may be open.
18. Easter Monday is Monday, April 1, 2024. The University is closed, but Some branches of the Library may be open.
19. Friday, April 12, 2024, is the last day of classes for most faculties, according to UBC academic calendar 2023-2024.
20. UBC Winter Term 2 examinations begin for most faculties, day and evening classes from Tuesday, April 16, 2024, to Saturday, April 27, 2024. Saturdays and Sundays are included in the examination schedule.
21. UBC Winter Session residences close on Sunday, April 28, 2024; residents are required to vacate by 12:00 pm.
22. UBC 2023/24 Winter Session ends on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.
