Sassa Grant Payment Dates For July 2022, In 2022, the Department of Social Development (DSD) received R257 billion from the government. It has since been revealed that 99.6% of this money or R248 billion will go towards the provision of social grants. As the last remaining days of June draw to a close, the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has recently confirmed the social grant payment dates for July. Here is how the agency has arranged its grant payment schedule.

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) estimates that about 46% of South Africans receive social grants from the organisation.

Permanent social grants are distributed to qualified applicants by the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) during the first week of each month. There are several grants available, including the Child Support, Care Dependency, Older People, and disability grants.

Following a recent announcement that social grant payments will be made on the second day of every month from April onwards, a new grant payment schedule has been released. This new payment schedule will help beneficiaries prepare ahead of collecting their grants.

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has released the grant payment dates for 2022 and 2023.

The agency explained that if the second day of the month falls on a weekend or public holiday, the grant will be distributed on the following working day.

Sassa has also stated it will start distributing these social grants on the second day of each month. Beneficiaries will receive their grants earlier each month due to this the announcement

Payment dates for the remainder of 2022 and 2023 are listed below in the following order:

Payment dates for July 2022:

  • Monday 4 July 2022: Older Persons Grant
  • Tuesday 5 July 2022: Disability Grant
  • Wednesday 6 July 2022: Children’s Grant

Earlier this month, the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) confirmed that the Child Support Grant (CSG), which is a social grant for low-income families intended to financially assist with the costs of their children’s essential requirements would be increased. Anyone under the age of 18 is considered a “child” in this circumstance.

This came after the Department of Social Development (DSD) recently put into effect measures that will significantly boost the amount that is typically paid out for this grant in an effort to benefit this group of beneficiaries.

As a result, all eligible children will now receive a total of R720, which includes their standard R480 Child Support Grant (CSG) as well as an additional R240 (50% of the basic CSG).

It’s important to note that Sassa does not have set payment dates for the distribution of the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) R350 grant. These grants are distributed at retail merchants including Pick N Pay, Checkers, Boxer stores and Shoprite stores
